Ancient cliff dwellings in Walnut Canyon south of Flagstaff in Arizona. Photo by Carstens and Fortino
To get to Walnut Canyon
National Monument, take Interstate-40 east out of Flagstaff to Exit
204 and go south about 2 miles.
Trails lead down into the canyon where
you can see the cliff dwellings built by the Sinagua approximately
900 years ago. Allow at least 2 hours to walk the Rim Trail, visit
the museum, and visit the cliff dwellings.
