Picacho Peak
State Park is located just off Interstate-10 between Phoenix and
Tucson. Take Exit 219 about 27 miles south of the turnoff
to Interstate 8 when you are going south, or about 39 miles
north of the turnoff to Interstate 19 in Tucson when you are
going north. The park is on the west side of the highway,
and has a campground with picnic tables and hiking trails up Picacho Peak itself. The area is especially nice in the
spring when many desert wildflowers are in bloom and the
temperatures are mild.
Picacho Peak is known for its spring wildflowers in bloom.
